Obituary of Harold Massengill

Mr. Harold Massengill age 77 of New Tazewell was born September 24, 1943 and passed away at his home June 26, 2021. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Airforce and a member of Head of Barren Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of the Evening Star Number 180, he was a Master Mason. Harold retired from Smith Field foods after 27 years in Middlesboro.

He was preceded in death by his:

Parents: Porter and Lena Massengill

Infant Brother: Hollis Massengill

He is survived by his:

Wife of 58 years: Lola Massengill

Children: Dennis and (Sue) Massengill of New Tazewell

Joe David and Jackie Massengill of New Tazewell

Dewayne and April Massengill of New Tazewell

Grandchildren: Matt Massengill, LeAnn Massengill (James Knight), Dakota Massengill (Samantha Massengill), Jared Massengill, Taylor Massengill (Matt Williams), Austin Massengill (Qurstin Massengill).

Great Grandchildren: Colin and Olivia Massengill, and Skyler Knight

Brothers: Oscar and Kay Massingill of Harrogate, Cletis and Lois Massingill of Key West Florida, Olan and Goldie Massengill of Harrogate, Henry and Mary Massengill of Harrogate, Charles and Phyllis Massengill of Tazewell.

And a host of other relatives and friends

The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 29 from 5PM to 7PM in the Claiborne – Overholt Funeral Home Chapel. A full Masonic Service will be conducted at 7PM.  The service will be officiated by Rev. Larry Beeler and Rev. James Shoffner. Music will be provided by The Bunch Family.

Graveside Services will be Wednesday, June 30 at 10AM in the Riverview Cemetery with full Military Honors.
