Obituary of Margaret Lewis

Mrs. Margaret Lewis age 97 of Tazewell was born January 15, 1923 and passed away January 10, 2021. Widow of the late Rev. Danie Lewis and daughter of the late Lon and Viola (Buchanan) Lester. She was a member and the oldest living member of Youngs Chapel Baptist Church. She was saved during the first revival held in the church in 1947. She could tell you all about her wonderful experience with the Lord as if it were yesterday.

She is preceded in death by her:

Parents: Lon and Viola Lester

Son: Marion Lewis

Sister: Lorene Davis

Brothers: Bob, Jack and Edward Lester

Son-in-law: A.J. Greer

Brother-in-law: Merlin Leach

She is survived by her:

2 Daughters: Shirley Greer and Joyce Reed f Tazewell

Grandchildren: Jay (Deanna) Greer of Tazewell

                         Barry (Vicky) Reed of South Carolina

Great Grandchildren: Sarah Greer, Aaron and Gracie Reed

Sisters: Louise (James) Baltrip of Michigan

            Ruby Leach of Michigan

Several nieces, nephews and host of many loving friends and relatives

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Youngs Chapel Baptist Church building fund C/O Joyce Young Tazewell, TN 37879

The family will receive friends on January 13, 2021 from 6 PM till 7 PM with funeral services to follow at 7 PM in the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Shane Sandefur and Barry Reed officiating. Music will be provided singers of Youngs Chapel Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 12 Noon in the Irish Cemetery
