Obituary of James Thomas Atkins

James Thomas “Bud” Atkins, age 82 of Tazewell, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 17, 2020. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He loved his family and farm. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mary Atkins. He is survived by his wife, Linda Atkins; sons, James Atkins, Jr. and Jerry (Wilma) Atkins; grandchild, Whitney Atkins and boyfriend Chad McElhaney; siblings, Mildred (Jerry) Bagwell, Betty Collins, Lois Dalton, Kyle (Grace) Atkins, Clarence Atkins, Elvin Atkins; and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will be having a graveside service at the Atkins Cemetery (Broken Valley Rd) in Thorn Hill, TN on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at 2:30 PM. All friends and family are invited to the graveside. Rev. Fred Reed will be officiating. Music will be provided by the Reed family. Pallbearers are: Keith Collins, Robert Dalton, Matthew Dalton, Kevin Dalton, David Atkins, and Earl Atkins.
