Obituary of Ruby Brown

Ruby Brown, age 89, of Powell, Tennessee and formerly of Leslie County, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Tennova North Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. Ruby was born in Harlan, Kentucky on April 13, 1931, to the late Marvin and Nancy (Huff) Stanton. Ruby dedicated her life to the Lord and prayer. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. Ruby is survived by: Daughter - Shirley Asher Sons - Ellis Brown, Wayne Brown, Samuel Brown and Randall Brown. Sisters - Gladis Stanton, May Stanton, and Lena Stanton Brothers - Paul Stanton and Jim Stanton And a host of many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Ruby was preceded in death by her: Husband - Arthur Brown Father - Marvin Stanton Mother - Nancy Stanton Sister - Vernie Stanton Brothers - John Stanton and Earl Stanton Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2020 at Claiborne ~ Overholt Funeral Home Chapel, in New Tazewell, Tennessee. Officiating will be Rev. Jeff Roberts and Charlotte Morgan. Burial will follow on the Farm of Samuel and Karen Brown in Sharps Chapel, Tennessee. Visitation will be Sunday, June 7, 2020, 5p.m. - 7p.m. at Claiborne ~ Overholt Funeral Home Chapel in New Tazewell, Tennessee.
